Ted Strauss came into contact with Ken when he was in the
process of developing a device that would keep you cool, but
wouldn't hinder body movement. You could take it to the
jobsite, to the park, traveling and hiking. He wanted some
personal relief from the heat.
Ted and Ken put their heads together to develop the first
personal cooling system to use an evaporative cooling action.
The Personal Cooling Device would use a small amount of water,
batteries and a fan to keep the back and neck cool from
grueling heat conditions - a little "ahhh" in the
middle of summer.
Ken and Ted presented it to
Ted Strauss
Sharper Image. "Sharper Image
said it was one of their biggest sellers in its first
season," says Ted. "It is great to see your product
in stores and on the shelf.".
