Chute Lamp™

Every once in awhile Ken Tarlow has enough time between building prototypes for others to invent his own products - like the Chute Lamp.

This was not a revolutionary new concept in technology - it was just a novel design. One of the biggest headaches about selling lighting products is the lamp shade. They are fragile and take up a lot of space to ship, which is expensive. What if there was no lamp shade? Ken's design incorporated a fan, a light, a piece of cloth which was blown up in the air to act as the shade. If you wanted, you could add aromatherapy.

Ken built a prototype, like he always does, to make sure that the concept worked. Then he went to write the patent. Once the patent was completed and the USPTO has assigned a patent file number - he submitted it to several lighting manufacturers for review.

The product was licensed to Lumisource and it sold well for about seven years which is about the average lifespan of a consumer lighting product.
